Dr. Carelle Bassil

As COO of Wessex Learning, Carelle Bassil manages all day-to-day operations, including internal, external and client-related initiatives. She is responsible for building and implementing business/product development strategy in the U.S. and global markets, and plans and manages marketing and communication strategies. In addition, Dr. Bassil leads a team that provides streamlined operational and technical support for professors, students and authors.

Dr. Bassil joined Wessex Learning in 2017 as an account executive focusing on customer relations and identifying potential new markets. She played a leading role in developing the marketing strategy for the launch of the Sales Management Simulation.

Before joining Wessex, Dr. Bassil taught Strategic Communications at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies. She currently teaches at the City University of New York, and is an associate at the Columbia Business School. She is a researcher specializing in corporate communications.

Dr. Bassil applies her passion for teaching to her dedication to professors and students. She constantly seeks to innovate how Wessex can support the global academic community.

Dr. Bassil holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Communications and graduated with Honors from the Business School of the University of Poitiers in France. She holds two Master’s degrees, in Corporate Communications and Public Relations, and in Peace and Sustainable Development. Dr. Bassil holds a B.A. in Advertising and Corporate Communications. She is fluent in French and Arabic, and is an active member of the National Communication Association and the Association for Business Communication.
